Two elected school board members take oath of office

Dr. Traci Pierce, Superintendent, swore in two elected school board members on Dec. 4. Mark Stuart is starting his second term. Cassandra Sage is beginning her first term, replacing retired board member Nancy Bernard.

EHS sophomore has been named a 2018 YoungArts Finalist in dance and is eligible to attend YoungArts Week in Miami in January. JHS senior was recognized with a YoungArts Merit Award in Visual Arts and is eligible to participate in a regional YoungArts event.

RMS Musical
Applications for the RMS Musical open on October 19, with auditions beginning November 2, 2015 There are parts for up to 50 students. Please email drama@rmsptsa.org for more information.

ASB Membership
Every student at Redmond Middle School is eligible to be a member of Associated Student Body (ASB) by purchasing an ASB card. This entitles the holder to join the ASB clubs, participate on school sport teams, vote in all school elections and receive discounts on ASB functions and activities.

ASB Socials
Sponsored by the ASB Leadership for RMS student body. Tickets are sold during school prior to socials. The dates for this year are: 10/14/16, 1/27/17, and 4/14/17. The 1st ASB Social/Dance is on Friday, October 14, from 2:30 to 4:30. Students must remain at the social/dance the entire time. The event is $3 for ASB Members and $5 for non members.

PTSA Reflections Program
This year’s theme is “The World Would be a Better Place if…”. Students are to submit entries to the school library on or before Thursday, October 23rd. ASB Clubs Clubs are a fun way for students to get involved in their school and meet students with similar interests to themselves. Clubs are supported by ASB and participants are encouraged to purchase an ASB membership. Students can form a club themselves by: developing an idea, collecting signatures of interested students,finding an advisor willing to help, completing the constitution form, submitting completed packet to the office. The list below highlights some of the clubs that are forming this year.

Season 2 Sports:

Season 2 Sports Begin on November 12 and go to January 17th. The sports offered are basketball for girls 6-8 and boys 7-8 (6th grade boys will play during the spring). After Hours Activities The City of Redmond Parks and Recreation offers after hours teen programming at Redmond Middle School. Each quarter students get to sign-up for two club sessions. Each session is four weeks long (four Wednesdays). It's a fun way to keep active and have fun! Cost: $20 quarterly fee. Additionally, the City of Redmond offers classes and field trips for RMS students.
