Weeks of June 7 - June 18
A Message from the Principal
June 11, 2021
Happy Friday to you!
As an educator, I always ponder the laws of physics at this time of year because it seems that time accelerates in the spring --especially in the month of June! Our end-of-the year activities are virtual this year – including our 8th grade celebration (today online from 4-6pm) and our end of the year “Touch of Class” assembly (Monday online during Grizzly Time beginning at 9:35am). As I will share with our Grizzly students on Monday, we have asked more from our students this year than ever before – remote learning and concurrent learning are not for the faint of heart! Our students met every challenge with courage and tenacity, and we could not be more proud of each and every one of our Grizzlies. No end of the school year letter would be complete without a special shout out to you- our families! Without family support, our students would not have been able to access their learning this year. You literally invited us into your homes each day and got to see firsthand what teaching and learning was all about. Thank you on behalf of the entire staff!
In other news…We have had many questions regarding the last week of school. While students are turning in their computer next week teachers will still be teaching. Teachers will focus on enrichment activities in their classes. If your student is learning remotely and will not have access to a computer once their school laptop is turned in, please feel free to keep the school laptop until Wednesday (you can turn in laptop according to the schedule below).
Finally, to our families of 8th graders, congratulations on completing middle school!!! To our families of incoming 7th and 8th graders, we are planning to have special “welcome back” evenings for each grade prior to the start of
school. Look for an early August edition of the Grizzly Gram with more specific details.
Have a wonderful summer. I hope you can unplug from technology and enjoy all that our fantastic community has to offer.
As always, it is a great day to be part of the sleuth!
